Our friends at Civics Unplugged are hiring a full-time Summer Program Associate for CU Commons in Upstate New York, with a focus on the Mohawk Valley!

This paid role ($3,000/month, June–August 2026, with room for growth!) is a great fit for college students, recent grads, or early-career professionals interested in community-building, event planning, and youth engagement. You’ll help lead programs to teach and empower civic innovators–someone who sees any problem affecting their community as a civic issue and uses new tools and approaches to break out of old patterns to build a better future.

Yamilet is an outstanding graduate of the Young Scholars program who continues to work with us in a number of ways as a high-achieving student at Utica University.

Continuing to make us proud every day, way to go Yamilet!

Yamilet Taveras ’27 was one of only 25 college students from across the nation selected to attend the American Chemical Society’s Graduate School Readiness Bootcamp.

Over the past year, Taveras has worked in the lab with Professors Alyssa Thomas and Michelle Boucher studying novel techniques for using nanoparticles to target delivery of medicine.
