Music is back! Scenes from our Welcome Concert this afternoon at California Institute of the Arts!

In 1990, Capitol Records began supporting an annual recording of new, original music from CalArts music students. This project was a way for Capitol to have a tremendous impact on the lives of many young, talented musicians. Since then, we’ve recorded 34 albums at Capitol Studios and Evergreen Studios.

Now we are making the Jazz Archive available on CalArts YouTube channel!

The Archive captures over three decades of original student compositions and performances, graphic design and cover art produced at CalArts.

We will release one album every week, beginning with the first year, 1990. The first CD features music by well-known alums including Ravi Coltrane , Ralph Alessi , Julie Spencer, peter epstein, Michael Cain, and Pedro Eustache_official
