English Language Institute at Westchester Community College Westchester Community College serves over 4,000 English as a Second Language students, more than any. We speak español, português, 日本語 and 한국어.

The English Language Institute offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at 8 levels (0 to 7) for complete beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. The emphasis of our program is on quality and always working to maximize the learning of English through communicative language practice in a student-centered, English-only environment. Our students are highly motivated adult English lan

guage learners for whom English, or a higher level of English, means more employment possibilities or the necessary preparation for starting college or other education programs. English level is determined for new students by a placement exam after registration. Registration begins at the English Language Institute in the Gateway Center, Room 243 in person or by telephone at 914-606-6656 (no online registration).
