Dr. John F. Barber is now serving on the board of Vancouver/Clark County telecommunications commission. This commission establishes R&R's for the franchise agreement between local cable company and local government and monitors the compliance of local cable access provider franchisees (FVTV ch 11, CVTV ch 21 and 23, and TV ETC ch 27, 28, and 29 of the Clark County Comcast Cable lineup). CONGRATULATIONS, Dr. Barber! "Motion by Council-member Stewart, seconded by Council-member Burkman, and carried unanimously to appoint John Barber to the Telecommunications Commission for a full term beginning immediately and expiring in 2014"

Vancouver city government is enhanced by the citizen volunteers who serve on various boards and commissions.
