This morning, new students walked into Ventura Adult and Career Education to start Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Computer Systems Technology, and Business, Accounting & Finance.

Some came in a little nervous, and some came in ready to go. All of them showed up for something they've been thinking about for a while, and that's the hardest part.

Welcome to VACE, students. We're glad you're here. 💙

Mr. Cortes Evening HSE/ABE class celebrating Mexican Independence Day! Together we honored Mexico's independence by sharing traditional food and drinks along with the culture and spirit our students brought into the classroom. The room was filled with festive decorations as students shared stories and traditions from their home. It was a wonderful reminder of how celebrating culture can bring a classroom together and strengthen our sense of community.

Meet Shelly! 👋

Shelly runs Career & Job Placement at VACE, where she helps students take what they learned in class and turn it into a job. 💼

She works with students in every program on resumes, job searching, and mock interviews, so when the real interview comes, it isn't the first one. Shelly continues to support students during their job search, sharing openings, connecting them with employers, and helping them prepare for each next step.

We're lucky to have her. 💙

Meet Scott Collins, your AutoCAD instructor 👋

Scott will be teaching - Fall CAD Night Class
His class is hands-on from the first session. Students learn 2D and 3D drafting by working in AutoCAD rather than watching someone else use it, and nothing assumes you have opened the program before. Students who already know AutoCAD pick up where they left off instead of starting over.

Fall term details:

• September 22 to December 8, Tuesdays from 6 to 9 pm
• 30 hours of coursework, roughly three hours a week for ten weeks
• Come to the Tuesday lab or complete everything online at your own pace — your choice
• $135, covering the $125 session fee and the $10 annual registration fee
• Enrollment includes a free one-year, fully licensed student version of AutoCAD directly from Autodesk
• Textbook required: AutoCAD 2026 Instructor, sold separately
• No class October 27 or November 24

No computer at home? You do not need one. The classroom is fully equipped with computers and wi-fi. If you would rather work from home, AutoCAD runs on both Mac and Windows.

Ventura Adult and Career Education is an Autodesk Authorized Certification Center and a Certiport Authorized Testing Center.

🎟️ Sign up and pay: https://VACEAutoCAD.eventbrite.com — enrollment paperwork to follow on the first night
