A million thanks to USD Students and Vermillion Community friends for “Planting the Prairie” in the College of Fine Arts Sculpture Garden!

USD Environmental Club, Aises/SACNAS, Coyote Sprout Society, Sierra Club, and USD Grounds have work together to gather native seeds, propagate and nurture the plants throughout the summer months.

Located in the Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Art

The Voices in tbe Blood Series are considered to be one of Colleen’s most important series of work. The series of 17 paintings, painted between 1987-1990 tell the Lakota creation story through the artist’s interpretation of blood knowledge. The stories told include the creation of the earth, jow the Lakota became the Lakota and how their ceremonies snd spiritual practices came to be. Throught a chronological series of paintings, each story is a world building and builds off the next.
