Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at the University of South Dakota is a values based Social Fraternity. Yesterday marked the end of very successful Greek Week! Day 2 we participated in the chalking of our crest on our sidewalk, Day 3 we volunteered at Hy-Chi for the Circle of Sisterhood, Day 4 we studied at the Greek Study Tables, and lastly Day 5 we had a blast competing in some park activities to finish off the week! Thanks to all the brothers who made this a great Greek Week!

Our last Senior Week Shoutout will go to Dale Loudon ! Dale came to USD to major in both Biology and Psychology. His future plans will include continue to finish up these two majors in December, 2020, and then immediately pursue his Master’s Degree. When asked what Lambda has meant to Dale he said, “To me, Lambda was a place to meet friends who would become my lifelong brothers. Lambda helped push me to be the best person I could be. It helped me strengthen my academic and leadership skills. Whether I was living in house or not, Lambda was always my home in Vermillion. No matter the struggles that came with college, my brothers were there to help and support me. Many of my fondest memories from USD are from my time in Lambda and my time spent with my brothers. I am sad to be leaving, I am also excited to be an alumni and watch the chapter continue to grow.” Thank you Dale for your hard work and dedication to Lambda, and best of luck to you and your future studies!

Today’s Senior Week Shoutout goes to Taylor Wipf ! Taylor came to USD to major in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Taylor’s future plans will be to continue his education at USD at the Beacom School of Business for his MBA degree. When asked what Lambda has meant to Taylor in the past four years, he replied, “Lambda Chi Alpha has given me great opportunities to develop myself as a gentleman and a leader. Lambda Chi Alpha has meant the world to me in the past few years. It is a family and a home away from home. It has also given me the greatest memories and friends that I could’ve asked for. Graduating and leaving these men is a very bittersweet feeling. It’s hard to believe I won’t be an active member anymore, but I am very eager to see where these gentlemen take this fraternity. Best of luck to you, brothers!” Thank you Wipf for your hard work and dedication to Lambda. Good luck in your near future and pursuing a further education!

This Senior Week Shoutout goes to Nick Rise! Nick came to USD majored in Molecular Biology and Mathematics. Nick’s future plans are to continue his undergrad into next year, graduate in 2021, then continue his education in graduate school with a desire to conduct research in Biology. When asked what Lambda has meant to Nick, he replied with, “Lambda has given me the opportunity to explore my abilities as a leader while helping to foster that growth through the promotion of common goals, proper transitions, and support from brothers. Lambda Chi Alpha also gave me the unique in dealing with administrational tools and protocol that is difficult to find proper training in. I am also thankful for the friends and connections I made during my time in Lambda. The house was a home to me for 5 semesters and the brothers are a constant support system, study group, and distraction for all 8 semesters. As I and other brothers leave, they will be the only thing I will truly miss from my active time with the fraternity. I wish the best for all of you. Today’s senior week shoutout goes to Ethan Walker! Ethan came to USD to major in BBA Accounting. His future plans will include receiving his Masters’s in Business Taxation from Villanova University in 2021 and working for KMPG as an Associate shortly after. When asked what Lambda has meant to Ethan, he replied with, “Lambda has allowed me to give back to the community of Vermillion and allowed me to form lasting friendships with Brothers and Alumni. I have learned a 100x more about myself being a member and officer than I have from any other college course or organization. Lambda has had a lasting impact on my life. Friday’s senior week shoutout goes to the one and only Parker Smith . Parker came to USD to major in Nursing. Parker’s future plans include travel nursing in Fargo, ND for Sandford Health. When Parker was asked what Lambda has meant to him, he replied, “Lambda has been my home, having lived there for two years, and a great way to connect with people at USD. Lambda has brought me friends, valuable connections, and not only to grow as an indivudual, but to be apart of something bigger than myself. I am forever grateful for the role Lambda has played in my life!” Congratulations Parker and good luck in North Dakota!

Today’s senior week shout out goes to the happiest guy in Lambda! Ross Bellefeuille came to USD majoring in Mathematic Education. Ross’s future plans is to teach at Nativity of Mary School in Bloomington, MN. When asked what Lambda has meant to Ross in the past four years, he said, “I lived 5 hours from USD, so it’s been amazing to have another family to live with, make memories with, share expierences with, and to grow with. From doing the most stupid things, to helping eachother with classes, I can say that I have loved every single one of my brothers in Lambda Chi Alpha! Lastly, for the new members, pick up stones throughout your time in Lambda. Before long, you’ll have to move on and grow up. Enjoy these moments and cherish every single one of them! Our next Senior week shoutout goes out to the OG dad Conrad! Conrad Conrad Mohr-Eymer attended USD majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Biology. Conrad’s next step in his career will be attending Medical School at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. When asked what Lambda has meant to Conrad, he replied, “Lambda has first and foremost been a brotherhood. The brothers of Lambda are my home away from home at college. We are a group of men that are trying to make our way in the world, and having a brotherhood means we have individuals supporting us in this venture that are all in the same boat. Lambda teaches us values that are important to live by to be a good brother, and, more importantly, a good person as we mature into adults. Additionally, Lambda offers us opportunities to not only assist Vermillion, but to give back to the state through donations to Feeding South Dakota. Overall, Lambda has been an organization that offers a bond to grow as brothers to become value-based scholars, leaders, and community driven individuals.” Thank you Conrad for all that you have done for this organization and wish you the best of luck in your future!

His future plans will include being a National Bank Examiner for the office of the Comptroller of the Currency. When asked what Lambda has done for Drew in the last four years he replied with, “Lambda gave me the privilege of having the opportunity to help serve and connect with the community of Vermillion.” Thank you Drew for your dedication to this fraternity!
