Due to unforeseen circumstances, the USD Speech and Debate Team’s year has come to a close. We understand and applaud the national organizations (AFA, NFA, etc.) who have taken a proactive approach to Covid-19 by canceling their national tournaments. Additionally, our hearts go out to any competitor who unexpectedly faced the end of their speech careers. Your performances were truly inspiring to both competitors and judges alike.
While we may not be traveling across the country, USD is still entered in the National Speech Championship’s online exhibition. Our girls are excited for the opportunity to showcase their work on a national level and say goodbye to pieces they’ve worked so hard on. We will upload some of these videos within the next few weeks in the hopes that you all can enjoy their performances as well!
Furthermore, I want to thank these two for their massive efforts over this past year. It’s been and honor and privilege to coach such dedicated students who constantly try to better themselves as individuals and as performers.
Lastly, thank you to the USD’s Speech Communication department, USD’s Alumni, and all of you! Thanks for supporting our team this year through coaching, likes, and comments. A team is more than the people who travel to tournaments and we can’t appreciate your efforts enough.
