As we head into a well-deserved long weekend, take a moment to celebrate the workers who helped build the nation we know today.

💡 Did You Know?

🎉 First Celebration: The first Labor Day celebration took place on September 5, 1882, in New York City.

🏭 Industrial Roots: Labor Day grew out of the labor movement during the Industrial Revolution, when many Americans worked long hours in difficult and often unsafe conditions.

✍️ Federal Recognition: Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, recognizing the hard work and contributions of workers across the nation.

💼 Today, Labor Day honors the social and economic achievements of American workers and their impact on the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

💙📩 Did you know there's a program designed to help first responders better communicate with individuals who may have disabilities or conditions that affect interactions during emergencies?

The Blue Envelope Program is now available through the Victor Valley College Police Department and serves as a valuable communication tool between community members and first responders. The envelope can contain important information such as emergency contacts, communication accommodations, identification details, and essential vehicle documents.

🚔💙 Learn how the program supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, dementia, anxiety, and other conditions while promoting safer, more effective communication during law enforcement and emergency situations.

🐏🔥RAM NATION!!!! 🔥🐏
I pulled up to Rams Stadium for the 2026 home opener and LET ME TELL YOU... the squad SHOWED OUT! 😤💪

The VVC Football team took down Glendale College 36-12 and absolutely turned up under the lights! 🌙🏈 After a quiet first quarter, the Rams exploded for 36 unanswered points and never looked back! 🚀

💨 Carlos Amplayo was cooking with 114 rushing yards and TWO touchdowns! ⚡ Dell Hester broke loose for a 75-YARD TOUCHDOWN! 🏃 Antonio Meza added a rushing TD of his own! 🛡️ Christian Long said "I'll take that!" and returned an interception 55 yards for a HOUSE CALL! 🏠🔥

The defense was LOCKED IN all night, the offense kept moving the chains, and Rams Stadium was rocking! 🙌🔊
But one of my favorite moments wasn't just the win... it was celebrating some of our amazing student-athletes from last year! 👏💛🖤

⛳ Men's Golf finished FOURTH IN THE STATE!
🤼 Men's Wrestling won THREE straight SECWA Championships!
👑 Women's Wrestling captured a SECWA Championship and earned a trip to the State Championship!

Can we get a HUGE round of applause for all of these incredible Rams?! 🐏👏

The 2026 season is officially underway, the energy is HIGH, and I already can't wait for the next game! 😎🏈 VVC Athletics

This Labor Day Weekend, join the Victor Valley College Associated Student Body as we come together to place 3,000 Flags of Honor in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11, 2001. 🕊️

📍 Victor Valley College Library Lawn

Each flag represents a person whose life was lost on 9/11. Attached to every flag is a handwritten name, carefully prepared by VVC students, ensuring each victim is remembered with dignity and respect. ❤️

Whether you can stay for a few hours or just help place a row of flags, your participation makes a difference. Bring your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, or coworkers and help us create a powerful tribute for our community. 🤝✨

The High Desert's "United We Stand" 9/11 Memorial, located in front of the VVC Library, stands as a lasting symbol of remembrance, unity, and resilience. Together, we can honor those we lost and ensure their memory lives on. 🇺🇸⭐
