🎓 For many, education is a life-long pursuit, which has been true for Jessica Deutel. With the memory of her own mother's graduation and the motivation to inspire her own children, Jessica finished her long route to earning her Bachelor's degree at Villanova and looks forward with a head start on graduate learning. “I'll probably go back (to school) because I can't stop learning."

Kyra Gayle proudly attended the Military Spouse Chamber of Commerce Advocacy Day at the U.S. Capitol as a volunteer Team Leader, where she had the opportunity to connect with Clarence Dingman, a Villanova alumnus and Army Veteran.

Clarence previously completed one of Villanova’s Professional Education courses in Project Management and continues to demonstrate outstanding leadership in his current role as President of Military and Aerospace Markets at PingWind.

It was inspiring to connect with a fellow military-connected leader whose professional journey reflects the impact of continued education, leadership development, and service beyond the military.

Villanova University’s College of Professional Studies, alongside our Office of Human Resources, was proud to attend the Modern Day Marine College & Career Expo and Military Spouse Summit.

We had the opportunity to connect with Marines across all ranks of leadership, military spouses, dependents, and Marine & Family Programs leadership, including the 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Troy Black. We also heard from Stephen Simmons from the U.S Department of War, as he discussed efforts to increase military spouse employment opportunities and expand access to educational and professional development resources.

Congratulations to the raffle basket winner, an Active Duty Marine who is interested in pursuing a degree! We enjoyed learning about his current studies at Montgomery County Community College — one of Villanova’s valued transfer partners — and sharing future transfer pathway opportunities with him.

We are grateful for opportunities like this to continue supporting military-connected learners and strengthening relationships within the military community.

🎓 At first believing that earning a degree was beyond him, Rome Hardaway proved to himself that graduating from college was a dream he could achieve with perseverance and determination - even after a decades long journey.
