It's 31 days to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, approved by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.

One way to celebrate is by reading

The book focuses on the pivotal year when American colonists fought for independence from British rule.

It also shows how close the Revolution came to failure and how Washington's persistence and strategic thinking kept the cause of independence alive during its darkest hour.

"The Declaration of Independence set out a theory of human beings and natural law that justified breaking the political bands binding the colonies to the Crown," wrote ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜† ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ผ, of BYU Law School, in a Deseret News opinion June 2.
