📦 TSTC in Waco Move-In Day 1: ✅

Across campus today, families and TSTC volunteers helped our newest students get settled in and start a brand-new chapter.

The incoming class checked out their new digs at Griffith Hall and Red River Apartments, unpacked, met roommates and got ready for the fall semester.

It’s a big step for students and their families, and the start of an even bigger step toward their future careers.

High school seniors, counselors and future TSTC students are invited to the TSTC Waco Electrical Showcase for how five electrical programs are powering careers across Texas:

They are ready to have a ball in the fall!

Our Automotive and Auto Collison and Management programs held orientations for new students on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the Waco campus. Students learned about the many services that TSTC offers along with what they need to know about their programs of study.

We are excited for our students moving into their on-campus housing on Thursday and Friday! 📦

Fall is in the air! 🍂

The fall semester, that is. 🔅

Some of our technical programs begin holding orientations for incoming students on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at TSTC’s Waco campus. Students in the Electrical Lineworker and Management, HVAC, and Plumbing and Pipefitting programs learned about various resources the college offers.

More orientations are planned, with housing move-in taking place later this week.

As students return to Texas classrooms and athletic fields, many are facing their share of 100-degree days.

For athletic personnel across the state, they are adapting to updated guidelines from the University Interscholastic League (UIL): starting this year, the use of wet-bulb globe temperature meters is required for use in outdoor activities.

The people who are learning about wet-bulb globe temperature meters are students in Texas State Technical College’s Occupational Safety and Environmental Compliance program at the Abilene, Fort Bend County, and Waco campuses.

Lindsay Sanders, a Vocational Nursing instructor at TSTC’s Sweetwater campus, said common sense when outdoors should be used by everyone.

🎓 Braden Janecek of Smithville earned his certificate of completion in Electrical Construction at TSTC’s Summer 2026 Commencement in Waco on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

👀 He walked away with another big honor: the provost’s award for leadership, vision, and academic excellence. He is a veteran and a member of the U.S. Army Reserves who helps with Soldier and Family Readiness Groups and Army Volunteer Corps.

According to his nomination form, “(Braden) is a leader among the other students and always encourages them to do better. He is always in class and arrives early. He has been a mentor both in and out of service.”

Now, Braden is taking his next step with All-N-One Electrical & Underground Services in Burnet.

Congratulations Braden on your well-earned recognition!
