The Baylor School of Music is delighted to welcome Mark Arnold as Adjunct Lecturer and Director of the Baylor Bronze Handbell Ensemble. 🔔🔔

"Baylor Bronze has a long history of exemplary music making and handbell education," said Mark. "My mission at Baylor is to extend that history while reaching out to new students and new audiences, both locally and in other settings. I am thrilled, honored, and a bit frightened to join the music faculty at Baylor, where the ensembles perform at an extremely high standard while respecting the unique contributions of each student musician. It’s a real privilege to be part of this group!"

Baylor Bronze will perform two concerts during the 2026-2027 school year:
• Tuesday, December 8, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in Roxy Grove Hall
• Tuesday, May 4, 2027 at 5:30 p.m. in Roxy Grove Hall

When Assistant Professor of Voice Dr. Morgan Manifacier began reimagining his Song Literature I course, he didn’t start with digital innovations, or lesser-known recordings. He started in special collections. Through a summer fellowship with Baylor’s Arts & Special Collections Research Center (ASCRC), Dr. Manifacier partnered with music librarian Dr. Bethany Stewart to transform how students encounter the art song tradition — not only as repertoire to perform, but as objects, technologies, and histories to explore.

The Baylor School of Music announces that Lynne Gackle, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Music and former Director of Choral Activities, will return to the Baylor choral program for the 2026–27 academic year.

Following a distinguished career at Baylor and continued national and international work as a conductor, clinician, and educator, Dr. Gackle will once again work with students and collaborate with faculty in the choral area.

Reflecting on her return, she shares: “I am so excited to once again teach and make music with the bright and talented students at Baylor… I am grateful and very blessed to have this opportunity.”
