Baylor University Army ROTC We produce 2nd Lieutenants for the U.S. Army, Army Reserve and National Guard. We commissioned our first graduate in December of 2010.

Baylor Army ROTC opened its doors in November 2008, with just a handful of Cadets and two cadre members. In the past five years of full operation, the program has grown to over 95 Cadets trained by seven full-time cadre and one human resource administrator. Baylor Army ROTC not only services students here at Baylor University, but at McLennan Community College and Tarleton State University's Waco campus as well. If you are interested in becoming a Baylor Army ROTC Cadet, please contact CPT Shenika Lewis at 254-710-3134.

Day 2 of FTX!

Bear Battalion cadets tackled three STX lanes: Ambush, Attack, and Movement to Contact! These repetitions provided valuable hands-on training as cadets prepare for Platoon STX Lanes.

Thank you to our cadre for their continued guidance and support, and to the MSIVs for planning and executing this training opportunity. We also appreciate our MSIIIs, MSIIs, and MSIs for their hard work, motivation, and eagerness to learn!

Finally, a special thank you to Master Sergeant Eloi, who will be transitioning from Bear Battalion to a First Sergeant position at Fort Hood later this semester. Your dedication to our program, commitment to developing future leaders, and quiet professionalism have made a lasting impact on Bear Battalion. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you the best in your next assignment!

Day 1 of FTX!

Cadets moved through four different stations where they fine-tuned their knowledge on ORP operations, T-CCC, Reaction to IDF & IMTS, and how to conduct Tasks After Action.

After the stations were complete they began Day and Night Land Navigation. Once that was completed, they conducted Patrol Base Operations for the night.

These skills will help Bear Battalion prepare for CST27 and future STX Lanes conducted at Bear Field.

Thank you to the MS4 instructors for their hard work putting together this training and to the underclassmen for their efforts to improve their skills.

Cadet Spotlight!

This Sunday, CDT Ellis (MS4) completed the Ironman 70.3 in Waco, TX!
“Ironman 70.3 Waco! The swim got canceled so I only signed up for a 56-mile bike and half marathon. The bike came with a nice headwind the entire way, but the run made up for it. Everyone out there was super positive and encouraging, which made the whole experience that much better. Definitely a fun one and would do it again!“

Congratulations on completing this challenging race CDT Ellis!

A little rain won’t stop Bear Battalion from getting great training value!⛈️🐻🔥

Last Thursday, our MS1s and MS2s practiced individual movement techniques and order of movement, while our MS3s practiced briefing OPORDs! With Fall FTX on the horizon, these bears are fine tuning their skills which will help them succeed at FTX and CST27!

Congratulations to Cadet Cole (MSII) for her completion of Air Assault!

“Air Assault School is a rigorous 10-day course where we mastered combat air assault operations, sling-load inspections, and rappelling from a UH-60 Blackhawk. It was physically demanding, but so worth it. Proud to bring these wings back to Baylor!”
