On Juneteenth, we reflect on the significance of this day and the stories that preserve its history. This week, Baylor Law School was pleased to host materials from The Texas Collection and the Black Gospel Archives, highlighting Juneteenth, Black history in Texas, and the role of gospel music in preserving these important stories.

The Baylor University Institute for Oral History offers another meaningful opportunity to learn from those who experienced and shared this history.

Since 1970, Baylor's Institute for Oral History has been preserving (and sharing) the memories of history's eyewitnesses. Today, more than 4,500 interviews are available online, many with the original audio files as well as a complete transcript for easy searching. Among the collection are interv

In just its second year, the Clinic served 162 clients, more than tripling the number assisted during its inaugural year. Students worked directly with self-represented litigants, navigating complex family law matters and gaining hands-on experience as they helped families move forward with confidence. The Clinic also expanded access by assisting its first Spanish-speaking clients. As one client shared: “This was really amazing and helpful. I lost hope until now. Thank you.” https://law.baylor.edu/news/story/2026/baylor-law-schools-family-law-clinic-triples-impact-second-year

Baylor Law professor Rachel Kincaid recently published two law review articles focused on prison litigation and access to justice: “Access Denied: The Injustice of PLRA Exhaustion” and “Deliberately Silenced.”

Her scholarship explores the barriers incarcerated individuals face when seeking to vindicate their rights through the courts. We are proud to see Baylor Law faculty continuing to contribute meaningful scholarship on critical issues in the legal system.
