For Dorothy "Dot" Richards, P'83, the Brandeis National Committee was more than a volunteer organization. It was a way to support a university whose values reflected her own. That connection would eventually inspire her daughter, Karen Richards Sachs '83, and help lay the foundation for the largest single alumni gift in Brandeis University history.

Bruce Litwer was a great friend to Brandeis. May his memory be a blessing.

Brandeis would like to remember Bruce Litwer ’61 (1940-2026) with gratitude for his decades of dedication to the university, which included:

• Serving as president of the Brandeis Alumni Association from 1991 to 1995 and as a longtime member of the Alumni Board
• Being a frequent class Reunion chair
• Serving as a member of the Alumni Club of South Florida and BNC South Miami-Dade Chapter
• Serving on the BNC Board of Directors
• Supporting Brandeis as a generous donor alongside his wife, the late Vicki Litwer, who is pictured below

Many Brandeis National Committee members may be retired, but they don't do rocking chairs.

Women and men all over the country join BNC to make friends and support Brandeis University. Attend a literary luncheon with a best-selling author. Join a hiking group, a current events discussion, or a theater outing. There is a study group to fit everyone’s interest, and leadership opportunities galore.
