Happy International Earth Day!!

We are happy to say that here at AU, study abroad travel emissions are offset by energy efficient cookstoves in Kenya. By distributing these cookstoves, they not only decrease the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere, but they also improve indoor air quality by reducing indoor cooking smoke and free up time for families.

Thanks for the collaboration and work done by the AU Sustainability office for helping make this happen!

📢 Students planning to study abroad in New Zealand 📢

Go Overseas is thrilled to announce that they have partnered with Education New Zealand to bring awareness about why New Zealand is a top destination for BIPOC students! They'll be giving away a free round-trip flight to one lucky winner to travel to New Zealand to study abroad.

To be eligible, students must:
   - Identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color)
   - Be a citizen of the US
   - Intend to study in New Zealand in 2024 or 2025

**The deadline to apply is Thursday, February 15th at 11:59 pm EST**

Vanessa Morales' video from Edinburgh won third place in our 2021 Video Contest! Vanessa studied on the Boston University London Internship Program last semester. "The famous Royal Mile in the early morning with a Scot playing the bagpipes in the background."

Haley Widom won second place in our 2021 Video Contest! Haley studied abroad at our AU Madrid Center on the Global & Public Health Issues in Spain & Europe program last semester. "Cooking class with the school. Attempting to make Tortilla de Patata and I fail to flip it correctly."

Congratulations to Rory Hayes, the winner of our 2021 Video Contest! Rory took this video in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve while studying abroad on the Ecuador: Rehearsing Change (Pachaysana Institute) program last semester. "It was at this location that I began to view protecting the Earth as my responsibility. Gliding among the waves, I could see all of the dolphins splashing around us. Nature is full of life and I am excited to be a part of it. "
