Moderated by Chris Crawford of Interfaith America, the conversation features CFJ's Founding Director Jim Wallis, senior fellow at Georgetown University's Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life, and Sharon Brous, senior and founding rabbi of IKAR, a Jewish community based in Los Angeles.

Together, we’ll examine the urgent challenges facing U.S. democracy and how people of faith can work together to strengthen it.

The government shutdown is a symptom of a deeper crisis. Political violence is escalating, and threats against our democracy are growing. Over 100 faith leaders signed onto a statement calling on political leaders to reject violence, defend free speech, and stop the targeting of faith-based and nonprofit organizations.

Last week, the Center on Faith and Justice, together with the Office of Mission and Ministry, hosted our inaugural Interfaith Prayer and Policy Breakfast.

This gathering brought our community together for prayer, reflection, and dialogue. We hope it will grow into a lasting tradition that continues to strengthen our shared work.

We are especially grateful to our keynote Melissa Rogers, for her inspiring remarks and to all of our speakers who offered wisdom and prayer. Thank you to everyone who joined us in conversation and prayer.
