The weekly delivery schedule will be starting again in the fall when school starts up but I’ll still be bring plants from the nursery and Plant Grant plant for DC pickup/delivery throughout the summer on these days. Get your orders in by the Thursday prior to the dates to ensure we have enough time to process the orders, update inventory and drive them to DC. You’ll still be able to pick up orders and Plant Grant from the nursery location, which is open 7 days a week all year round for pick up.

New seedlings are ready!! Get your applications in and schedule a pick up at the nursery whenever works for you or get them brought to the DC pick up location. DC pick up is last Friday of the month from 10am-4pm and we need to have your request at least a week in advance. Summer schedule for DC pick ups will be approximately every 3 weeks.

We get a lot of questions about inventory this time of year. Here's how our inventory additions work:

All of our plants are grown outside (not in green houses!) so that they stay on their natural growth cycles and are acclimatized to our region.

Each year we plant seeds based on how many plants were grown and what the demand was the previous year. We plant seeds in spring, and most plants tend to grow in enough to be added to inventory between May and September (this is when you'll see the biggest increases in our inventory). The rest of the year (October to April) we are subtracting from the inventory as each order is placed.

We also do a full nursery inventory 2-3 times a year (where we count every single plant), and Jeremy sends Beth weekly inventory updates as plants grow in.

If you're trying to get plants before they are sold out, pay close attention to the inventory between May and September, and refer to our Container-Grown Planning for Planting Schedule (link in bio) to get a good idea of the best time to purchase and plant each species.

By the way, this is a photo of the nursery this past spring (not a current photo). Thinking warm thoughts!
