Please join the Department of Sociology for a celebratory event to formally welcome sociology scholar and the new President of George Washington University, Dr. Ellen Granberg. We have also invited the incoming President of the American Sociological Association, Dr. Joya Misra, to present the keynote address for this event, titled Intersectional Solidarities: Building Communities of Hope, Justice, and Joy. President Granberg will also offer brief remarks about her sociological background and her priorities at GW. All are welcome, particularly our GW community of alumni, students and faculty in the disciplines of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Human Services and Social Justice.

Congratulations to HSSJ student's Bailey Moore and Grace Rafferty, who are 2022-23 Knapp Fellows!

The Steven and Diane Robinson Knapp Fellowship for Entrepreneurial Service-Learning aims to recognize, reward, and facilitate creative public service and academic engagement led by GWU students, undergraduate and graduate. Selected students design and implement entrepreneurial service-learning projects that make a significant difference in the lives of others.

The Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service is honored to showcase the amazing projects of the three selected Knapp Fellows for academic year 2022-2023: Jennifer Ko, Bailey Moore, and Grace Rafferty. Join us in celebrating their achievements!

This event will feature presentations by the fellows about their experience with their fellowship, community engagement work, lessons learned and reflections. There will be food and drinks!
