American University Master of Science in Organization Development - AU MSOD

American University Master of Science in Organization Development - AU MSOD The MSOD program is built on a rigorous academic curriculum enriched by experiential learning. It takes about 20 months to complete the 11-course curriculum.

The AU MSOD Program prepares you to become an agent of organizational and individual change through an experiential, cohort-based graduate program attuned to today's fast moving, complex world. The AU MSOD classroom is a dynamic, challenging space where students learn from scholar-practitioner instructors, each other, and through reflection on their cohort's experiences and their own use of self.

In recent years, the MSOD curriculum has been expanded to include international consultation experience for each cohort, along with active and engaging online learning outside of the classroom for each course. To accommodate working professionals and out-of-town students, most courses meet on AU's northwest DC campus for two three-day weekends a month apart. The coursework addresses foundations and skills essential to 21st century OD practice and ends with a series of fieldwork activities. Beyond the residential "launch" of the cohort learning community, there are two residential sessions for intensive learning: Use of Self in Professional Practice and International OD Consultation.

"We are facing a complex and rapidly changing situation with COVID-19, both in our local community and around the world. Based on new information, and in the best interests of our community, we are announcing the following actions for the university, including WCL:
• Classes will be moved online for the rest of the semester.
• Students currently remaining in the residence halls are instructed to leave campus by Monday, March 23 and return to their permanent addresses for the remainder of the semester.
• AU will work with students to provide support to facilitate this transition. Further details will be forthcoming, including emails and webinars.
• All AU Abroad programs are canceled; students should return to their permanent address.
• Students needing help finding housing should email [email protected].
• Employees will shift to an expanded telework environment starting Monday, March 16 and continuing through Sunday, April 5. Further guidance on student workers is forthcoming.
• The university will not be closed, and services will be available on campus with limitations. University-sponsored public events, both on and off campus, and all university travel are suspended through May 5.

We understand these are significant disruptions. However, today’s actions will support the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, and also the broader public. Please visit our COVID-19 Resources website at https://www.american.edu/coronavirus, which is being updated as new information becomes available."

We are facing a complex and rapidly changing situation with COVID-19, both in our local community and around the world. Within the last 24 hours, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a state of emergency for the District, and the DC Departmen...
