Update 2/17/2022 | Switch from Hybrid to Full-Online Mode

2022 will mark Georgetown's 7th annual Africa Business Conference - both a signature event of the University and a unique student-led collaboration between the McDonough School of Business and the Walsh School of Foreign Service's African Studies Program. Each conference has built upon the ones before it, bringing together business and pol

icy leaders, mixing in the dynamism and innovation of students and startup founders, and helping shape conversations around business across the African continent. For further details refer to the website at www.georgetownafricabusinessconference.com. Building upon the global zeitgeist around sustainability following COP26, the conference will bring together leaders from across Africa and the global business community to discuss Entrepreneurship & technology driving a sustainable & growing Africa. The day-long conference will focus on technology-enabled entrepreneurship, agribusiness, energy and ESG leadership. We are excited and thrilled about the assembly of emerging leaders and Africa business icons who will address us on Saturday, February 26, 2022. As of 2/17/2022, the format has been moved to online-only due to extenuating logistics circumstances of our principal venue. Refer to the website at www.georgetownafricabusinessconference.com for further details. We invite interested sponsors and partners to contact us at [email protected]. Given the unprecedented year we have had, we feel extremely blessed that we can keep the conversation on Africa going and so, to that end, we look forward to receiving you on February 26, 2022.

With the majority of African Nations diversifying from traditional sources of income, entrepreneurship is increasingly seen as a key to economic growth. Thus far, entrepreneurship has yielded huge returns for African entrepreneurs, but there lies great untapped potential to drive the African continent into its next phase of development. The challenge of fast-tracking and scaling entrepreneurship in Africa to solve the continent's greatest needs means fast-tracking and scaling resilience, creative problem solving, self-efficacy and access to funding

Join us on the 29th of April 2023, as we engage in meaningful discussions at this year’s conference with expert panelists from across the African continent.

The Entrepreneurship theme will roll out two breakout sessions namely - Startups & Innovation and Venture Capital/ Private Equity & Impact Investments. Expert entrepreneurs and investors will lead discussions on the strides being made, challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurship in the continent.
