The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Xi Zeta Omega Chapter was chartered on 1/16/1982.

A new begining awaited the 80 phenomenal women who chartered Xi Zeta Omega chapter on January 16, 1982. Xi Zeta Omega celebrated its chartering during the 74th Anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on the hallowed grounds of the sorority's founding Howard University. The history of Xi Zeta Omega will forever reflect the significance as to the date and place of its chartering. What the members

of Xi Zeta Omega have done and achieved over the years is in keeping with the charter members creative spirit. From its inception to the present time, Xi Zeta Omega has focused its activities on implementing the National Sorority programs and the establishment and development of programs which would be a specific benefit to the community of Washington, D.C

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Xi Zeta Omega Chapter partnered with our community at IDEA Public Charter School for a powerful Earth Day celebration filled with purpose and action. From planting flowers and trees 🌸 to cleaning up our neighborhood 🧹, every moment reflected our commitment to enhancing our environment.

Attendees also enjoyed youth-led environmental education stations, sustainability resources, and mindful movement that centered wellness and connection. 🌿🧘🏾‍♀️

Xi Zeta Omega’s CHIPP Program is Making an Impact! 💗💚

The Xi Zeta Omega Chapter is proud to support 47 students at Wheatley Education Campus in Northeast Washington, D.C. through our CHIPP (Chapter Initiative to Promote Power Packs) Program.

To date, we’ve distributed over 2100 Power Packs—each filled with essential snacks and supplies to keep students energized, focused, and ready to learn throughout the school day.

As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 school year, we’re aiming even higher—expanding to serve 60 students and doubling our impact in the community.
