Celebrating Dr. Sheila Brooks – A Howard University Cathy Hughes School of Communications Alumna and PRSA Hall of Fame Inductee!
We are proud to share that Dr. Sheila Brooks, a Ph.D. graduate of the Communication, Culture & Media Studies (CCMS) program in the Cathy Hughes School of Communications, has been inducted into the PRSA National Capital Chapter Hall of Fame for 2025.
Dr. Brooks is the Founder, President, and CEO of SRB Communications, one of Washington, D.C.’s most respected woman- and minority-owned full-service communications agencies. Her career spans more than four decades of excellence in journalism, entrepreneurship, and public relations.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Brooks has dedicated her life to mentorship, education, and advocacy, empowering underrepresented voices and creating opportunities for future communicators. Her legacy includes teaching at Howard University, establishing scholarships, and founding initiatives that uplift emerging PR and journalism professionals.
Congratulations, Dr. Brooks, on this well-deserved honor! Your impact continues to inspire the next generation of leaders in communications.
