Wish You All Happy Dhanteras today and Advanced Happy Deepavali/Diwali to You and Your Family & Friends! 🪔

- On October 5th, 2025, the United Hindu & Jain Temples (UHJT) association celebrated a grand and joy-filled Diwali Mela at Tuscarora High School in Leesburg, VA, in the heart of Loudoun County home to one of the largest Hindu and Jain communities and the most prosperous county in the United States. The event was a vibrant expression of faith, culture, and community spirit. The mela featured numerous merchandise vendors, temples, and non-profit organizations’ booths, along with a lively food court serving delicious traditional delicacies. The school’s auditorium, one of the largest in the DMV area, came alive with 29 mesmerizing cultural performances presented by local performing arts schools and temples.

The highlight of the evening was a magnificent Ram Lila cinematic performance presented by VHP-A, featuring over fifty artists. The play beautifully portrayed the divine life and virtues of Lord Rama, bringing to life the eternal message of dharma (righteousness), sacrifice, and family values the very essence of Diwali. The venue was gracefully adorned with an exquisite replica of Lord Ram Lalla’s deity from Ayodhya, surrounded by vibrant floral decorations, colorful balloons, and lively photo stations where families and friends joyfully captured their festive memories. The celebrations were further sanctified by the personal blessings of revered saintly leaders, including His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual successor of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji, among others.

Several interfaith leaders, elected officials, and members of the broader American community joined to celebrate the Festival of Lights and experience the timeless message of Diwali — the triumph of light over darkness and righteousness over ignorance. The gathering also offered a glimpse into the divine life and virtues of Lord Rama, whose ideals of truth, compassion, and duty continue to inspire millions across the world. Adding to the joy, every child received a complimentary snack bag filled with fruits, cookies, and juices — a small gesture that brought big smiles and sweetness throughout the day.

A beautifully compiled 52-page souvenir book was released for the occasion, featuring enlightening articles not only on Hinduism and Jainism such as Jamnagar’s Hindu Maharaja, God’s Particle Bosons, Moksha, Hindu/Jain Temples Outside India, and Kaal Chakra (Shamballa) but also on Sikhism and Buddhism, both of which celebrate Diwali in their own profound ways. The publication served as an educational bridge, highlighting the shared values of peace, knowledge, and harmony among the diverse Dharmic traditions.

It was truly a divine and delightful celebration, filled with devotion, cultural pride, and the colors of fall, reminding everyone that Diwali is not just a festival, it’s a way to light hearts and unite communities.

Thaaank Youuuu!!!! What an amazing set of performances yesterday. The performers stole our hearts with their beautiful dancing, melodious singing and performances on instruments. Kudos to parents and teachers for all the cooperation and all the hard work you put into it, but let me assure you, and I am sure you also feel the same way, that it is so worth it, when we see them having fun and performing on the stage. We have witnessed different dance styles of Indian classical dances as well as wonderful bollywood dances.

If there are any photos/videos (group or individuals) that you have taken and would like to be placed on UHJT's website/page, please email them to [email protected].

We hope that all of you enjoyed the divine temple autosphere along with vendor booths and yummy food. Behalf of the UHJT team, we would like to thank all our sponsors, supporters, vendors and volunteers for yesterday's event.
