After much consideration, we've decided to cancel the event with Dr. Jean Hutchinson tomorrow. Many alumni expressed their desire to attend and disappointment at being unable to do so, and it’s our feeling that the timing of the event was the obstacle. Dr. Hutchinson has offered to share her presentation with the Branch when she next returns to Washington, and we hope you will be able to join us for that or other Washington, DC Branch events. - Emma & Zoe

The Vimy Ridge site, north of Arras, France, commemorates the tremendous achievement of Canadian and Allied troops during the offensive of April 1917. The site is one of the few places left in France where the terrain has been largely unchanged since the end of the First World War, with the result t…

"The new stadium, which will be amongst the top facilities of its kind in Ontario, will include an artificial turf field, state-of-the-art scoreboard, and bowl-style seating. Temporary stands will be installed at the north end of the stadium, pending additional fundraising for a pavilion that will complete the bowl design. The revitalized stadium will be in the same location as the current stadium, and have a similar capacity of approximately 9,000. It will be home to the Queen’s soccer and football teams, and used by a number of other teams and clubs."

An early rendering of what the revitalized Richardson Stadium could look like. Queen’s Board of Trustees has approved the Richardson Stadium rev...

Happy 173rd Birthday Queen's!

Happy University Day!

Queen's was granted its Royal Charter on October 16, 1841 and later that year, the university established that date as University Day to commemorate the occasion. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, University Day was celebrated with a series of track and field competitions for students (including some traditional Scottish events such as the caber toss) and was a much anticipated date on the university calendar.

Today, we're looking forward to welcoming our alumni home for the weekend!
