Georgetown Mock Trial

Georgetown Mock Trial Interested in acting, public speaking, debating or the law? Georgetown Mock Trial is a competitive club that attends tournaments around the country.

Each year we receive a case (alternating between criminal and civil) from the American Mock Trial Association. Students on the team assume roles as lawyers and witnesses and compete against students from other schools in front of judges. Tryouts for new members take place each fall semester. See us at SAC Fair or contact us at [email protected] for more information!

Q) Why did you try out for GUMT?

I have a rather unhealthy obsession with doing mock trial and love running a good cross or arguing an objection. Going into college, I knew I wanted to continue doing mock trial and get a look into the world of college mock trial. Mock trial people are also just fun to hang out with, if we're being honest.

Q) What are you most excited for this year?

I'm excited to compete against other universities and see the styles of other college mock trial teams. I'm excited to drive to tournaments and get to know the team better as the year continues:)

That’s it for our new members, but stay tuned for tournament updates as we compete throughout the rest of the semester!

Q) What are you most excited for this year?

I'm really excited to get to know my team better and collaborate with them as we compete in different tournaments!

Stay tuned to meet the rest of our incredible new members!

Q) Why did you try out for GUMT?

I spent a ton of my time in high school digging through pre-trial case law, studying objections, and practicing statements.  I loved my high school mock trial experience, and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to continue participating in the program.

Q) What are you most excited for this year?

No doubt, team trips to tournaments!  I really look forward to taking part in the team’s spirit, unity, and camaraderie, so I can’t wait to get on the road to compete!

Stay tuned to meet the rest of our incredible new members!
