Summer interns and recent law grads are often assigned to research legislative history to help with statutory interpretation questions, or to conduct research on administrative law issues while working for administrative agencies or firms engaged in regulatory work. If these are unfamiliar research areas for you, the Law Library’s Prepare to Practice Series can help you learn (or refresh) skills in legislative history or administrative law research before you get your first assignment. Our Prepare to Practice Series can also help with tips to transition to researching in the workplace.

New Study Resources!

For the 2020-21 academic year, the library has added a digital subscription to West's collection of study aids, providing access to more than 500 publications from West Academic, Foundation Press and Gilbert. Access includes: Academic success, Acing series, Black letter outlines, Career guides, Concise hornbook series, E-Flash cards, Exam pro series, Law stories series, Gilbert law summaries, High court case summaries, Nutshell series, Sum & substance quick reviews, and Turning point series. New titles are added regularly.

The library has subscribed to the Wolters Kluwer Online Study Aid Library through June 30, 2021. It includes popular study aids like Examples & Explanations. Information about how to access this platform, as well as the West Academic Study Aids platform, are on our Student Resources for Fall 2020 guide (gtownlaw.li/fall2020).

Georgetown Law Remembrance of Justice Ginsburg, September 21, 7pm US Eastern Time.

On Monday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. EDT, Georgetown Law will host a live Facebook event (facebook.com/georgetownlaw) celebrating the life and legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Her biographers, Georgetown Law Professors Mary Hartnett (L’85) and Wendy Williams, will talk about her career. Former clerks, Georgetown Law Professors Dori Bernstein (L’89) and Mitt Regan (L’85), will discuss their experience working in her chambers.
