Celebrating 8 Years🎉
"Looking back on my years at the university, I find myself reflecting on the countless experiences, interactions and small victories that shape our work. Every semester brings new faces, new challenges, and new reminders of why this work matters. Every semester, we watch students grow, academically and personally, often without realizing how far they have come. Some of my favorite moments are the ones that happen between the big milestones: the unexpected conversation that stretches far beyond coursework, the satisfaction of watching a student recover from setbacks and move forward confidently, a student’s email announcing a hard-won A, the joy of seeing students who once struggled walk across the graduation stage. These moments stay with me, stay with all of us, and remind us why our work matters. And as I look back on this journey, I am also deeply grateful for the colleagues I have had the privilege of working with. I am thankful for the teamwork, the kindness, the support, and the sense of community that surrounds me."
If there is one truth about education I believe deeply, it is that it has the power to transform people and lives. Joseph Addison captured this beautifully when he said, “What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to the human soul.” A passion for learning, combined with discipline and hard work, can turn raw potential into the fullest expression of who we can become, especially if the intellect, character, and talents are applied toward a greater purpose. It is a thought I hope will stay with the students throughout their academic journey and beyond.
