Chartered in 1867, Howard University prides itself in exemplifying the core values of Excellence, Leadership, Service, and Truth. From the first time we step foot on campus as freshmen, we learn the value of servant leadership and the impact Howard University graduates make in our communities.
Today, I am proud to announce my candidacy for Region III Chair of the Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA). Over the past decade, I have had the pleasure of serving HUAA on the local and national levels and give back to an institution that is responsible for the man that I am today. It was HUAA who provided an anxious high school senior from Atlanta, GA the opportunity to visit Howard. I knew from the moment I arrived on the yard, that I was home. That experience taught me many things, but the most important lesson I learned was the impact alumni have on "Future Bison" seeking to attend Howard.
That lesson continues to serve as the catalyst for why I believe in the mission of HUAA. During my time in HUAA, I have learned that our greatest strength is the untapped potential of our local clubs. Local clubs are often the unsung heroes charged with uniting alumni, fundraising for the university, representing the community, and introducing high school students to Howard University.
Join me as I strive to unite alumni throughout Region III by Locally Engaging Alumni through Development and Service.
