Karsh STEM Scholar and sophomore, Camille Wimberly has won the prestigious Goldwater scholarship. Applicants are chosen based their academic achievements, research aspirations and promise for future success as a scientist. Camille is an outstanding emerging scholar. At Howard, she is preparing to attend graduate and professional school to pursue a combined MD-PhD. Please join us in celebrating Camille. She becomes the seventh Karsh STEM Scholar to win this award its 9-year history.

Congratulations to our KSSP Students who participated in the Inaugural CEA Research Expo. A special congratulations to K-8 scholar Gabby De Lima and Toni Dismuke for participating in HERD Talks, an oral research presentation competition.

After the event, our scholars had the opportunity to speak to CEA Dean Jones and Keynote Speaker Dr. Bruk Berhane (pictured)

Notifications will take place as soon as reviews are completed. While we do not have an exact date that reviews will be completed, notifications will happen via Submittable. After which, information will be sent about the next steps, including details about testing.

KSSP was elated to have 31 scholars and program faculty attend the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists this past week. From reconnecting with past scholars and seeing current scholars present their amazing work to building meaningful connections to deepen our passions for science, the Karsh STEM Scholars continue to reaffirm the motto of One Standard: Excellence!
