It's already Back to School Season, and we're feeling nostalgic.

Remember Dan Hollis's whimsical Bubble Day? Remember the magical game when the Thundering Herd beat Notre Dame? Remember feeding one of the squirrels a fry? Or studying in the quiet of Morrow Library? Ahh, the memories.

Whether you graduated last year or 50 years ago, your experiences at Marshall helped shape who you are today. But what if we could give more students the opportunity to have those experiences? The Marshall For All scholarship initiative aims to help more students graduate debt-free by lowering the barrier for entry and funding their tuition.

And we want to help! In honor of Back to School Season, we ask everyone who values affordable, quality education to donate your graduation year, and contribute to the wellbeing of future Marshall students. Follow the donation link, change the custom amount to $20.26 or $20.01 or $19.63, and get us one step closer to a tuition-free campus. All donations over the next year will be matched, so please donate, comment, share, and help us get the word out!

Join us August 15th for our 1 year celebration! Last summer, a small band of DC-area Marshall alums decided to recharter our alumni chapter.

Since then, we've hosted the always popular football watch parties, some fun happy hours, volunteering events, and generally celebrated Marshall's successes with school leadership, current students, and other graduates. Now, let's celebrate you: our members, our followers, and all the supporters who make time in your schedule to show up. Bring your photos, your memories, and your kelly green!

One year ago, a bunch of people stood in the bar area of Ted's Bulletin and decided to breathe life back into the Marshall Alumni DC Chapter.

Since then, we've held member meetings, organized football watch parties, coordinated happy hours, attended our first alumni awards banquet, congratulated Marshall's newest alumni with DC College Access Program, volunteered at DC Central Kitchen, and represented DC well at the 2026 State of the University.

Now, we're on to the next phase. It's time to pay it forward. We're excited to announce our 2026-2027 fundraising campaign to help future Marshall students graduate debt-free. Join us next month for our one year celebration event and learn more about what we have planned to serve the next generation of the Thundering Herd.
