🎥 Major/Minor: Media & Communications with a minor in Anthropology
🚏 Why Did You Choose CUA: I wanted to be in D.C. but did not want an overwhelming, city school feel. CUA offered the perfect balance, with both an amazing location and a huge, beautiful campus.
❤ Favorite thing about CUA: I developed amazing relationships with friends and professors and gained both hard and soft skills that set me up for success in my career. (Being within walking distance to Murry and Paul's and Masala Story is a close second).
💡 Advice for Undergrads: Build and invest in strong friendships with other students and professors! Every opportunity, academic success and adventure I experienced in college happened because I surrounded myself with people who encouraged, challenged and supported me throughout my four years.
💙 How do you feel CUA or the MCS department helped you along the way? The MCS department has stellar professors who genuinely care about student success, and students with varying interests who want to help each other succeed. MCS students may go in all different directions, but the common analytical, practical and social skills we learned in MCS classes prepared us well for various career paths.
💿📀 Fun Fact About Yourself: I have a massive record collection, and one of the best things about being in the DMV area for college was exploring local record shops. Check out Som Records on 14th St. NW!
🧩 What did you do after graduation? I went back home to New Jersey and worked at a radio station where I previously interned. A few months later, I started at Avoq. Throughout this time (and even today), I kept in touch with my MCS professors, who were incredibly helpful in keeping an eye out for opportunities, offering job-hunting tips, and serving as valuable resources.
