* Mnemosyne 75 Years *

This year, we celebrate Mnemosyne's 75th anniversary.

Every month, we will bring to our readers’ minds articles from the past that we consider good examples of what Mnemosyne stands for: inspiring scholarship of high standing in the field of Greek and Roman literature and culture. These articles will be highlighted on the website and made publicly accessible via open access.

We hope that you will enjoy the jubilee year with us!

Catholic University is proud to invite you to a special lecture delivered live online.

Meet the "monk who saves manuscripts"! Fr. Columba Stewart, OSB, joins us as part of the Visiting Scholar Program of the Phi Beta Kappa Society to discuss his work rescuing manuscripts that record the world's precious religious heritage. Fr. Columba has ventured into conflict zones around the world, from Iraq to Timbuktu, working with local partners to preserve and digitize manuscripts from all faith traditions. Fr. Columba was the 2019 Jefferson Lecturer in the Humanities and has been featured on "Sixty Minutes."

This event is co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Office of University Advancement, the School of Theology and Religious Studies, the University Honors Program, the Program in Early Christian Studies, the Program in Medieval and Byzantine Studies, the Department of Greek and Latin, the Department of History, the Department of Semitics, and the Catholic University Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
