CALL FOR BOOK PROPOSALS — "Educational Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging" Book Series
This series is dedicated to advancing justice-centered scholarship that interrogates, challenges, and reimagines educational systems across the P–20 continuum. Aligned withthe mission of the American University Scholarly Institute on Education Equity and Justice (SIEEJ), the series centers equity not as an abstract ideal, but as an actionable commitmentrooted in research, policy, practice, and lived experience.

This series elevates interdisciplinary and cross-sector perspectives that examine how power, identity, and systemic inequities shape educational access, opportunity, and outcomes.Volumes will critically engage issues such as race, disability, language, gender, sexuality, class, and immigration status, while foregrounding inclusion and belongingas essential conditions for meaningful learning and human dignity. Consistent with SIEEJ’s emphasis on praxis, the series prioritizes work that bridges theoryand action, offering concrete strategies for educators, leaders, policymakers, researchers, and community partners committed to transformative change.

"Educational Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging" welcomes a range of methodological approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, critical, participatory, and narrative-basedscholarship. By amplifying marginalized voices and centering community-informed solutions, the series seeks to move beyond deficit framings toward asset-based, liberatory visionsof education. This series serves as a platform for bold ideas and courageous scholarshipthat imagine and actively build more just, inclusive, and affirming educational futures.
