Chemical Engineering is the rigorous study of the broad range of systems involved in the transformation of materials and energy from one form to another. It focuses on the analysis of the chemical, physical and biological phenomena that form the basis of any process and culminates in process systems designs that are critically informed by consideration of relevant environmental, social and safety

concerns. The Department of Chemical Engineering offers an undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a graduate program of course work and research leading to the Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. The department is one of six departments in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Computer Sciences at Howard University.
