Through the Executive Master of Professional Studies in Emergency and Disaster Management program at Georgetown University, you can do just that by gaining the strategic and critical thinking skills you will need as a leader in the rapidly evolving profession of emergency management. In this year-long cohort program, students will learn from emergency management experts with real world experience. Intensive field study introduces students to new challenges and new capabilities in the field. Sophisticated disaster simulations challenge students to apply real-time critical analysis to lifelike disaster scenarios and simulations.

Founded in 2004, the Pat Tillman Foundation invests in military veterans and their spouses through academic merit-based scholarships – building a diverse community of leaders committed to service to others. The scholars chosen show extraordinary academic and leadership potential, a true sense of vocation, and a deep commitment to create positive change through their work in the fields of medicine, law, business, education and the arts. Georgetown University is considered as a University Partner and collaborates with the Pat Tillman Foundation to select Tillman Scholars each year.

Eligibility to be considered as a Tillman Scholar include:

Veteran and active-duty military service members
Honorably discharged of pre-and post-9/11 service
From all branches of the U.S. Military including National Guard and Reserve
Current spouses of veterans or active-duty service members, including surviving spouses

Pursuing a degree as a full-time student in an undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s or above), graduate or professional degree at a public or private, U.S.-based accredited institution.

Hamilton County Emergency Management & Homeland Security Agency (EMHSA) is seeking an entry-level candidate to fulfill the role of Emergency Management Specialist within our agency. Our Agency is the perfect place for an individual looking for a career in emergency management who needs a place to get started and develop the skills that will last throughout your career. Hamilton County, Ohio provides a unique opportunity for practicing emergency management because of the wide range of hazards that challenge us and our creative approach to solving the problems that face our field. The mission of Hamilton County EMHSA is to provide effective coordination and collaboration to create a culture of preparedness that builds and sustains a disaster resistant and resilient community in Hamilton County. Our Agency is looking for an individual to oversee the Agency’s Training & Exercise program and aid in that mission. The ideal candidate needs to be enthusiastic in working with our community partners to enhance emergency management knowledge, skills and abilities. The primary duties of this candidate will be to: • Assist in the development of an emergency management training and exercise program that tests the effectiveness of the program and enhances the knowledge, skills and abilities of the Agency and our partners • Review the training and exercise needs by conducting an annual Training & Exercise Planning Workshop and updating the Agency’s Multi-Year Training & Exercise Plan • Evaluate exercises to determine gaps and assist in identifying and implementing corrective actions • Ensure exercises are compliant with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) • Facilitate emergency management trainings around Hamilton County • Serve as Duty Officer on a regular, rotating basis to activate the Emergency Operations Center during emergencies The minimum qualifications of this candidate are: • A bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, criminal justice or a related field • One year of experience in a job-related area or successful completion of an emergency management internship to equal one year of total experience in emergency management • Completion of FEMA’s Independent Study 100, 200, 700 and 800 The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of: • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) • Relevant federal and state laws including the Robert T.
