Many of you have been enjoying the HBO series The Gilded Age. Did you know that Washington had its own Gilded Age, centered in the DuPont Circle/Mass. Avenue corridor? With this in mind, the DC Hoyas are offering a two-hour walking tour of Washington’s Gilded Age mansions.

The tour will be led by Carla Smith, a Certified Master Guide and member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC. While we won't be able to go inside the buildings (as most now house embassies), Carla will entertain us with the history of the mansions and stories about their original owners. Afterward, you are free to join your schoolmates somewhere in DuPont Circle for lunch or take in the nearby Phillips Collection!
