We are the Future Healthcare Professionals of William Paterson University. Our monthly meetings usually have a guest speaker and take place in SCIE 2064.

We are a group of William Paterson University students that strives to bring information to our fellow students about careers in medicine, scientific research, and more. We know it is exciting and hard to pursue that dream career in medicine or of another science based career. FHP brings students together to help them understand what it takes to become a successful healthcare provider through pres

entations by experienced WPU students as well as professionals in a variety of science and medicine based fields. All William Paterson students are welcome to attend, and all professionals in science and medicine-based fields are welcomed to contact us to help inform the students of WPU!

Heidi Fuchs, who is the Assistant Dean of Admissions at Touro College of Pharmacy, will be speaking about the school, aiming to educate interested students about the healthcare field with a particular focus on the branch concerning pharmacy. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, October 22 in Science East 2064 from 6:30pm-7:45pm.
Dr. Renee Williams, MD, MHPE, who is the Program Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program at NYU School of Medicine, will be speaking about the school. She is also an associate professor at NYU School of Medicine, as well as a Clinician-Educator at NYU Langone Medical Center. Definitely a meeting you don’t want to miss!!

This Thursday, April 4th, during common hour two emergency medicine doctors from Hackensack University Medical Center will be speaking at the FHP meeting. Dr. Chinwe Ogedegbe is the Chief of Research for the Emergency and Trauma Center at Hackensack Hospital; associate professor for EM at Seton Hall Medical School; she will be speaking about pipeline programs available for undergraduate students interested in the healthcare field including but not limited to: Pre-MD, DO, PA, P/OT, and anyone interested in biomedical research.

Dr. Ana-Paula Cupertino will give a brief talk about To***co products and E-cigs. Both doctors do research on To***co secession and have been awarded a grant to continue their research!

Next Tuesday, March 26th from 11AM-5PM is the FHP sponsored blood drive!! It will be held in the Multipurpose room in University Commons (Student Center).
