It’s about the person as a whole. Our two-year, 57-credit program provides numerous opportunities to use your skills and knowledge to improve the well-being of others. Patient care experiences begin early in the curriculum to ensure you are optimally prepared to provide patient care across the lifespan in the most common athletic training practice settings. Clinical rotations are sequenced based o

n professional knowledge progression acquired throughout the curriculum. In the 2nd year of study, you will work with faculty to develop an immersive clinical rotation that allows you to participate in the full scope of athletic training clinical practice while completing your coursework 100% online. With endless possibilities, you can work directly with patients in the setting of your choosing anywhere in the country! Our Cohorts are small and our faculty are passionate about teaching and readily available to assist you in achieving your professional goals. At WU, we are committed to your success and we look forward to helping you become a Certified Atheltic Trainer. There are two options to apply to the MSAT program at Waynesburg University.
1. An accelerated 3+2 program
-Earning both a bachelor's and master's degree in 5 years
2. Stand-alone 2-year program
-For students who already possess an undergraduate degree from an
accredited institution

Shout out to Jeremiah Cruz and Trent Patrick for successfully presenting their research at the 12th Annual Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Work Symposium last night.

Jeremiah's research titled: "Inhibiting Exercise-Associated Muscle Cramps Using Transient Receptor Potential Channel Agonists" investigated the ingestion of spicy foods to reduce alpha motor neuron hyperexcitability and the occurrence of muscle cramps.

Trent's research titled: "Evaluating Progression of Therapy Within Lower Extremity ROM: Utilizing Hippotherapy & Equine-Assisted Rehabilitative Treatment Modalities" investigated horses' natural walking gait to allow affected patient musculature to undergo rehabilitative contraction and relaxation cycles.
