Respiratory care is best described as the assessment and treatment of patients with both acute and chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system. Today’s respiratory therapists have demanding responsibilities related to patient care and serve as vital members of the healthcare team. W

eatherford College Respiratory Care is committed to meeting your educational needs. The goal of our program is to prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs). Additionally, we strive to develop excellent communication and critical thinking skills as well as instill and model the role of a member of the Respiratory Care Profession. Weatherford College Respiratory Care is honored to partner with Midwestern State University in an agreement to ease the transfer for students moving from WC associated degrees into baccalaureate programs at Midwestern State University. The program will allow current seniors enrolled in the WC respiratory care program to take courses that will be applied towards a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care (BSRC) degree.

2nd year students spent their Friday off welcoming the new students to the program. They also were great sports being models and judges for the “Respiratory Runway”. It was a great day that I could not have pulled off without the help from these students. Thanks for the help and the laughs! You guys did great.

Can you guess what our students are learning now? We are learning the art of “tight enough, but not too tight 😊”
