Auditions next week!!! September 2nd at 4:30 pm

We have decided to stick to Shakespeare for the fall production -

• Join Kim for ‘The Most Cruel Death of Pyramus and Thisbe’ from A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream. We plan to focus on the scenes where the comedic craftsmen (or “mechanicals”, as Shakespeare calls them) cast, rehearse and finally perform their play for Theseus and Hyppolayta’s wedding. We will follow their entire story line.

If you are up for a fun acting challenge and want to dive into Shakespearean text, this play is for you! We’d love to have you join us!

Whether you are college-aged, in high school or a community member, we have parts for all!

Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00pm-6:30pm

There is a sign up sheet on the call board in the Distance Learning Center on the W**d Campus – please sign up ahead for auditions which will be held on September 2nd from 4:30 – 7pm. Be prepared to stay for the duration of the auditions. Call backs will be held on September 3rd from 4:30 – 7pm.

There may be other acting and tech opportunities available as we plan on staying VERY busy this year, so come play!

AUDITIONS

Our Performing Arts Department is excited to start the Fall Semester and along with our regular classes there will be a ton of opportunities for students and community members to join the fun.
Both of our adjunct faculty, Kim Nile and Kathryn Young, will be on board for the Fall Production!

Whether you are college-aged, in high school or in the community, we have parts for all!
Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00pm-6:30pm

• Kathryn will be directing ‘My Mother*!^%! College Life’ a play created by Michael Bigelow Dixon and Brooke Jennett. What’s in the minds and hearts of college students today? Through monologues and a few dialogues, this multicultural ensemble questions everything they encounter: social justice and gender identity, self-awareness and relationship boundaries, future prospects and roommate etiquette. What emerges is a humorous and heartbreaking portrait of a new generation struggling with higher education’s promise of “personal transformation.”
Rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday - 4:00pm-6:30pm

We are also open to ideas from students if they have a scene/piece that they would like to see performed for what we are calling our “Fall Showcase”

There is a sign up sheet on the call board in the DLC – please sign up ahead for auditions which will be held on September 2nd from 4:30 – 7pm. Be prepared to stay for the duration of the auditions. Call backs will be held on September 3rd from 4:30 – 7pm.

In addition we have a very special Play that is being devised and developed by our own Neil Carpentier-Alting and local educator Dave Theno along with a group of students. This will be our Spring Musical, “Deus Ex Machina, The World Game”. Such an amazing opportunity to be part of the birth of this show.

Why take a theater class?

Taking a theatre class builds essential life skills like public speaking, empathy, and creative problem-solving. It teaches you how to read people, communicate with confidence, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

People who take theatre classes often find that the skills they learn transfer directly to everyday interactions, school, and the workplace. The ability to present yourself well and connect with an audience is a massive advantage in any field.

Whether you are pursuing a career or simply want to boost your personal growth, theater classes provide a safe space to stretch your imagination and conquer your fears, plus it is fun!

Siskiyous offers many opportunities in our Performing Arts Department - here are just a few you can still add for Fall 2026!
Intro to Theatre – Mon, Wed – 9am
Stage Makeup – Mon, Wed – 10:35am
Acting – Tue, Thu 12:10pm
