Carlos Lozoya Found Connections and Community at MassBay! 🌟📚

Before Carlos Lozoya enrolled at MassBay Community College, he did not think college was the right path for him. But after some encouragement from his wife, Carlos found community at MassBay.

What began as a second chance at higher education became a transformative experience that helped Carlos discover not only a love of learning but also a passion for teaching.

MassBay Community College has named Kelly Graska and Richie Haskell as co-head coaches of the College's Unified Sports program, which brings together students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities to compete as teammates while fostering inclusion, leadership, and community.🌟

"Unified Sports is about so much more than competition," said Graska. "It is about creating a team where every athlete feels valued, supported, and truly part of something. I am excited to work with our students and help continue building a program that represents the very best of MassBay."

Last Saturday was the 3rd Annual MetroWest Prostate Cancer Awareness Event!🤩

The event provided prostate cancer education and free screenings, including PSA blood testing. MassBay's very own Nursing students worked alongside the Nursing Faculty and Event Staff to help with event setup, check-in and registration, taking vital signs, and providing Portuguese and Spanish interpretation for attendees.

The event was a great opportunity for the community to learn more about Prostate Cancer and for the students to get some hands-on experience!🩺
