Outward-opening door. No gap. And you can’t stand in front of it.

This one’s for our law enforcement brothers. Same crushing technique to force the door, but the strategy changes completely when you have to stay out of the doorway to reduce the risk of being shot through it.

Positioning and angles matter here. Watch how the approach shifts when your life depends on not being in front of that door.

Still no gap. Now we’re using the axe blade as the wedge.

When the spacing is too tight to get the Halligan in, driving the axe blade in as a wedge gives you another way to create the purchase and start crushing the door.

Different approach, same problem solved. The more tools in your toolbox the better when the door isn’t cooperating.

Have you used the axe blade this way before? Drop it below and tag your irons partner 👇

Recessed door. Opens out. And the wall is stealing your workspace.

When the door sits back in the frame the wall becomes the enemy — it cuts off your angles and limits how you can drive the tool. Here’s how the axe or chock gets you the leverage you need when the space just isn’t there.

This is the kind of door that exposes the guys who’ve only trained in open space. Run it on the prop before you see it on a job.

Ever forced a recessed outward-opening door in the field? How did you set up? Drop it below 👇
