Concert on the Quad

Directed by Dr. Paul Bryan & Prof. Jonathan Ragonese

Join The Criterions Jazz Ensemble, the WCU Symphony Orchestra, and the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band for an outdoor concert under the evening sky. This free community event launches a new season of music at the Wells School of Music and sets the tone for the first home football game taking place the next day.

Bring your snacks, lawn chairs, and favorite blankets, and enjoy a relaxed night of music on the Quad with friends, family, and neighbors.

In the event of inclement weather, the performance will take place in Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall.

Our Music Therapy faculty recently represented the Wells School of Music at the 2026 World Congress of Music Therapy in Bologna, Italy, held July 7–12, 2026.

Dr. Eun Sil Suh, Dr. Christina O'Brien, and Prof. Ian Vereen presented "Connecting Borders Through Rhythm: A Cross-Cultural Examination of Percussion-Based Interventions to Reduce Aggression and Enhance Social-Emotional Development in Adolescents," sharing their collaborative research on adolescent social-emotional development.

Dr. Christina O’Brien presented "Listening from the Inside: Creative Healing and Sonic Persistence in Juvenile Detention," highlighting her clinical work with youth in juvenile detention settings.

We are so proud of our faculty for sharing their research and expertise on an international stage and for continuing to advance the field of music therapy through scholarship, collaboration, and advocacy.

RAMS UP for Wells School of Music alumna Shana Pistilli!

Shana threw out the ceremonial first pitch at last night's MLB All-Star Game after winning the 2026 MLB & Mastercard Small Business Contest - selected out of 119 applicants for a $10,000 grant, Mastercard mentorship, and the honor of the first pitch itself!

A Music Education graduate with a Special Education minor, Shana is the founder and executive director of the Rubato School of Music in the Philadelphia area, where she's built a program dedicated to making music accessible to students of all abilities. She's stayed closely connected to WSOM since graduating, returning as a guest speaker in our Music Education classes to share her work in adapted music education!

Congratulations, Shana - we couldn't be prouder!
