West Chester University (WCU) will welcome its newest Golden Rams—the members of the Class of 2030—as more than 3,000 first-year and transfer students move into campus residence halls on Thursday, August 20, and Friday, August 21.

Our Physician Assistant Program celebrated its annual White Coat Ceremony and a major program achievement!

This ceremony honored students across all three cohorts, from the Class of 2028 beginning their journey to the Class of 2026 preparing to enter the healthcare profession.

📍 37,000+ patient encounters completed by the Class of 2026
🎓 26 graduates entering the profession
🏥 Graduates heading to organizations including UPMC, Lancaster General Health, Main Line Health and Norwalk Hospital
📚 Previous WCU classes have achieved a 92% first-time PANCE pass rate

Our Health Career Summer Academy welcomed nearly 60 high school students explored careers in healthcare. From hands-on learning and simulations to mentorship from faculty and healthcare professionals, students gained valuable insight into the many paths available in the health sciences.

Our Health Career Summer Academy students participated in the Friday Night at the ER simulation, an interactive learning experience designed to demonstrate the importance of teamwork, communication, and decision-making.

During the simulation, students worked together to manage the operations of a busy hospital, balancing patient care, staffing, and limited resources while responding to real-world challenges.

A special thank you to our Associate Dean, Dr. Cheryl Gunter, for leading this engaging simulation and sharing her expertise with our students.

Our second week of our Health Career Summer Academy is underway!

This summer, nearly 60 high school students are exploring the exciting world of healthcare through hands-on learning, mentorship, and real-world experiences. All free of charge thanks to generous support from donors through the West Chester University Foundation.

Both sessions combined, students will complete 25+ sessions led by WCU faculty and local healthcare specialists, totaling 50+ hours of health career exploration. From nursing simulation and respiratory therapy to sports medicine, CPR, public health, mental health, and more, students are gaining valuable insight into careers that make a difference.
