The WCU Speech and Debate team will be hosting a tournament on October 28-29th on campus! If any one would like to judge, please email the head coach Nicholas Prephan- [email protected]. Even if you can only come for a partial day, all help is appreciated. This will count as the Pi Kappa Delta Provincial tournament, so please come out to support!

Hello all!

At the National Tournament, we discussed the need to communicate the value of the team to administration. We also realized we wanted to honor the legacy of Mark Hickman, the former DoF of the team. One of our alumna (thank you Imani!) put together a survey that WCU alumni can fill out. This will help us collect our narratives to show what Speech and Debate means beyond competition, and brainstorm ways we can show our appreciation to Mark. If you are an alum of the team, please, take a few moments to fill out this survey.

As part of the Pi Kappa Delta national tournament being hosted on campus next week, we will have an alumni banquet on March 17 from 7-9 in the Faculty Lounge of the newly built science building. We hope to see as many alumni as possible coming out to celebrate the team!

WCU is honored to host the Pi Kappa Delta national tournament next month! From March 15-18, we will be the site of the 2023 PKD National Comprehensive Tournament.

We are in need of judges. If you would like to come be a part of this wonderful event, please contact our Director of Forensics Nicholas Prephan. His email is [email protected].

Additionally, we will be hosting an alumni gala on March 17 of the tournament. Please come out to show support for the legacy of WCU forensics.
