DR. CASTILLO SCHOLARSHIP

The winner of the scholarship will receive $1,000.00 of economic assistance!
Applicants must be in their first year of college/university or been recently accepted to a college/university within Pennsylvania, Delaware or New Jersey.

Here are the other requirements the student must fulfill:

-Be Mexican or of Mexican descent.

-Live and study in Pennsylvania, Delaware, or New Jersey.

-A copy of acceptance letter or student ID from the school where student is currently enrolled (first year students only).

-A cover letter with student’s name, address, e-mail address, phone number, the name of his/her college/university and intended major.

-Write an essay (1-2 pages, in English) including student’s goals, ambitions, and answering the following two questions:

What aspects of Mexican culture do you wish were better known by the local community?
What actions would you propose to promote Mexican culture?

The deadline to submit all materials is August 31, 2020 and they must be submitted to the email address: [email protected].

The winner of this scholarship will be notified on September 15, 2020 and will be able to collect the scholarship check at the MCC’s offices in Philadelphia until October 30th, 2020.

Lambda Theta Alpha is an official collegiate partner to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in an effort to have a larger and more united impact on a national philanthropic cause. Pi Chapter is currently fundraising for the Philadelphia 5k Walk/Run!

In September, supporters in communities across the country will participate in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. This exciting, family-friendly event helps raise funds to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
