Last week, the College of Business and Public Management hosted another successful Mock Interview event! Over 150 students practiced their interview skills with 53 incredible interviewers. You made a difference to our students, helping prepare them for interviewing and networking. Thank you to all the companies who participated in making this event possible! College of Business and Public Management student organizations hosted a competitive food drive in connection with the Super Bowl this year. The “Soup-er” Bowl Food Drive teams collected a grand total of 2,508 items including ramen, soup, and other shelf-stable food products, and delivered them to the University’s Resource Pantry.

West Chester University’s Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA) is bringing to campus the Frontiers, the world’s number one tribute to Journey, as part of the WCU CJSA Concert Series. The Frontiers will perform in the Madeline Wing Adler Theatre on Saturday, February 21, at 8 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase on the SSI Box Office website (https://ramcardcenter.vbotickets.com/event/CJSA_Concert_Series_Presents_Frontiersnum1_Journey_Tribute_Band/183280), and free parking is available in WCU’s M Lot, making it easy for students, alumni, and local community members to join the fun. We kicked off our CBPM “Soup-er Bowl” this week! This new initiative, a collaboration between the Dean’s Office and the CBPM Student Leadership Council, has CBPM student organizations collecting food items benefiting the WCU Resource Pantry and the Coatesville VA Food Pantry in a friendly competition!

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 CBPM student organizations collecting the most donations!

CBPM student clubs are competing to collect the most food items as part of this college-wide challenge. Accepted donations include canned soup, other canned goods (vegetables, beans, etc.), and dried items such as ramen noodles. Donations are being collected from Monday, February 2nd through Thursday, February 19th. Please drop off all donations by February 19th to the CBPM Dean's Office located on the 3rd floor, Room 300.

Create your team (max of 3 students) or register as an individual to participate in the 2025 WCU Social Innovation Challenge on Friday, November 7th, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM!

This exciting, hands-on event invites students from all majors across campus to work in teams and develop innovative solutions to a real-world social challenge. It’s a great way to:
• Practice problem-solving and creative thinking
• Collaborate with peers across disciplines
• Experience the entrepreneurial process in action

Did we mention there will be prizes??
🥇 1st Place – $2,500
🥈 2nd Place – $1,500
🥉 3rd Place – $1,000

No advance preparation is needed! The challenge topic will be revealed the morning of the event, and all teams will address the same issue. This is not a “business” competition — it’s about ideas that make an impact.

You are invited to join West Chester University for a Veterans Day Panel Discussion: “Veterans, Justice, and Community: Navigating Systems & Securing Support” on Tuesday, November 11, from 6:00–7:30 PM in the Business Public Management Center, Room 101.

This dynamic panel will feature representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Chester County Veterans Affairs Office, West Chester University Veterans Center, Montgomery County Emergency Services, and local advocacy organizations. Panelists will address key topics including mental health, financial exploitation, victimization, reintegration challenges, and access to justice and services. Moderated by John Crouser, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and current doctoral student in Public Policy and Administration, the discussion will engage both in-person and virtual audiences, followed by a Q&A session and networking reception. WCU President Laurie Bernotsky will begin the event with opening remarks.

Light refreshments will be served, and the community is welcome to attend. The event is free and open to all.
