Congratulations to Dr. McInnis for being the first winner of the Lavendar Leader Award, named after Dr. Hodes!

Dr. McInnis was truly touched by this surprise award at the Lavendar Graduation 2026. He says, "I believe that as educators of educators, we carry a profound responsibility to model what it means to honor, uplift, and celebrate the full range of identities and backgrounds in our classroom community. This award holds deep meaning for me, as it reflects an ongoing commitment to this work, stands as a testament to Dr. Hodes’ light, love, and enduring legacy...and serves as a reminder to push forward with purpose, kindness, compassion, and care."
